Family Update...

My sweet boys keep getting bigger and smarter...

John Parker is almost 20 months old!  I seriously can't believe we are closer to two than one.  It seems like just yesterday I was planning his first birthday party and he was learning to walk - he is getting so big!  He talks in sentences now - he can say anything we say, and he is putting 4 and 5 words together now to say what he wants or to describe what he sees.  It's so cool, because he's been saying words for months, but only repeating what we would say or saying simple one to two word phrases; now, he initiates talking constantly and will actually TELL US what he wants.  He says please and thank you regularly, and he says "Love You, __insert name here___." (Mommy is my favorite)  He is so observant and talks about all the things he sees, too.  He is just such a smart little boy!  He loves Dora, Mickey Mouse, and Elmo.  He also loves to pray, and makes sure we all bow our heads to thank Jesus at mealtimes and bedtime.  He loves to play ball of any kind - especially GOLF.  His first real sentence was "me and Dada goff?" and he asks if he and daddy can golf EVERY SINGLE DAY! :) He is learning the meaning of "no" and is pretty obedient (for the most part) - but we still have lots of time outs and red-headed temper tantrums too.  He is absolutely in LOVE with his little brother; I'm just so surprised at how protective and loving he is toward him.

Weight - 30 pounds

Clothes - 2T - 3T

Diaper - size 5, wish we were potty trained, but not ready quite yet...
Sitting on the potty... and that's about it.

Shoes - 8-9

Height - around 35 inches - last measurement was at 18 months and he was 34.5

Teeth - 16!  Those eye teeth were a beast coming in!  Caused meltdowns, sleeplessness, and grumpiness, but thank goodness we are done until 2 year molars!

Still gets pacifier at bedtime and naps, and sometimes when he asks.. "pappy, peeeezzz" - but we are trying to cut down paci time.  And he doesn't want his pappy without his "sikky" (silky security blanket).

Sleep - 1-2 naps (starting to transition to 1 nap a day at the babysitter's, but when we are home all day, I still lay him down for 2 naps - one around 10:30 and one around 3), and he sleeps at night from 9pm-730 or 8am

Eats - ANYTHING.  Obviously, you can tell by his size, he doesn't skip many meals! He is sometimes "choosy" but will eat just about anything and he loves fruit!  He acts like a bowl of fruit is the best thing ever!

Feeding himself - the ONLY way to eat these days

Liam is 12 weeks old and also growing like a little weed, and he gets sweeter every day.  He is SUCH an easy baby - so content and hardly ever fusses at all - a far cry from the fussiness we experienced around 7 to 8 weeks.  If he is hungry or extremely tired he will get a little grumpy, but other than that, he is so happy!  He is laughing out loud, smiling all the time, cooing, and trying to imitate our sounds and facial expressions.  He loves his paci and is already getting attached to his security blanket also. He has rolled over from belly to back a considerable number of times starting at around 5 weeks old, but he doesn't do it every single time yet; and he's starting to like tummy time a lot more.  He also loves sitting in his bumbo seat and playing on his play mat, and he absolutely LOVES his swing.  We have the fisher price little lamb swing and it has been a LIVE SAVER.  He will sit contently in it and look around or sleep soundly for an hour or two sometimes. He also loves to be swaddled - one night recently we tried putting him to bed without swaddling and he was awake at 3am (not typical of him) so we swaddled him and decided he will let us know when he's ready to give it up! This past week, I noticed he was getting a little sleepy, so I took him to his bassinet and laid him down, wide awake for a nap.  I went about doing my chores and never heard him make a peep - he ended up sleeping for almost two hours and put himself to sleep without fighting the least little bit.  I hope he keeps that up!  We have a nap nanny and our bassinet frame is the exact same size as the nap nanny, so with a little security added by John, it fits perfectly - and I'm telling you, the nap nanny is HANDS DOWN my most prized baby item.  Liam sleeps great in it, for naps and bedtime - and it was great for John Parker too.  He slept in his nap nanny until he was 6 months old; even though they say not to put it in the crib, it fits very snugly with no space on either side, and it has a buckle so the baby can't maneuver out of it... so, I personally don't see any issues with it - and the babies LOVE it for sleep.
He Loves his BUMBO!

Weight - somewhere between 13 1/2 and 14 pounds
*he was 12 pounds 10 ounces at his 2 month checkup and over 24
       inches long

Clothes - 6 month and 6-9 month; some 9 month onsies/sleepers

Diapers - size 2

Eating - nurses while I'm with him (somewhere between 630 and 730am and again at 830am right before I go to work), eats a 5 1/2 ounce bottle of pumped milk at 12 and 4, nurses between 630 and 730pm, and eats a 7 1/2 ounce bottle at 930pm.  When I'm off, he nurses at every feeding except bedtime.  He already eats way more than JP did at this age, but he's a lot bigger, so I guess that explains why...

Enjoying swing time
Sleeping - long naps throughout the day, 930pm to somewhere between 630 and 730am (9 to 10 hours straight!) We've had a few days here and there where he has woken up at 4 or 5, but for the most part he's slept until at least 6am since I went back to work when he was 8 weeks old.  I've been blessed in that area, for sure!
